A tônica deste fim de semana coube a duas bandas de nome grande e com grande diversidade de instrumentos de sopro, indo do grave do trombone ao agudo da flauta transversa, passando por saxofones, trompetes, gaita e clarinete - naipes de metais que anunciam o carnaval vindouro!
A banda brasiliense Móveis Coloniais de Acaju é formada por 10 músicos, dentre os quais um flautista, dois saxofonistas, um gaitista e um trombonista ensandecido, como se vê na foto acima e na foto abaixo, tiradas durante a apresentação dos caras no Circo Voador, sexta passada. Entre levadas de rock, samba e ska, um pé fincado nos ritmos latinos e muita disposição no palco. Impressionante ver centenas de cariocas cantando várias letras de uma banda ainda desconhecida do grande público - um clima que lembra (guardadas as devidas proporções) os shows do Los Hermanos (o som do Móveis tem, inclusive, várias passagens que me remeteram ao primeiro disco dos barbudos da PUC-Rio).
E por falar em Hermanos, o que dizer de uma banda que possui músicos do Brasil, Argentina, Colômbina, Chile e Venezuela, e que tocam ritmos como salsa, cumbia, merengue, frevo, reggae, choro e samba? É simples: mistura com cachaça que fica muito bom.
A banda Songoro Cosongo (que se apresenta sábado no Humaitá Pra Peixe) possui 8 integrantes, mas o bloco de carnaval que leva o mesmo nome e que está ensaiando todos os domingos de Janeiro em Santa Teresa contava, anteontem, com quatro trompetes, quatro saxofones, quatro trombones, uma flauta, um clarinete e cerca de quinze percussionistas, entre agogôs, claves, caixas, alfaias, timbales e tamboras. Foi o primeiro ensaio de bloco do qual participei neste Janeiro - mês que será, aliás, muito curto para abrigar tantos blocos e fuzarcas organizadas para o esquenta do carnaval que, apesar de só começar oficialmente na virada do mês, já parece estar em curso pra muita gente.
